Dr Kim Hicks is a Psychiatrist and Psychogeriatrician with special interests in late life mood and cognitive disorders. She specialises in the assessment and management of dementia, depression and anxiety as well as the neuropsychiatric manifestations of Parkinson’s disease.
Dr Hicks utilises a combination of medical and psychological therapies and where clinically indicated, she provides access to Neurostimulation treatments such as Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) and Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) at Belmont Private Hospital.
Dr Hicks works collaboratively with patients, their caregivers and other health professionals. She recognises the importance of supporting the carers and family members of her patients.
Dr Hicks is happy to provide care via telehealth.

Experience:
Educated in Brisbane, Dr Hicks studied at Queensland University of technology (Bachelor of Applied Science - Biochemistry) and The University of Queensland (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery - MBBS).
Dr Hicks has fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and holds an Advanced Certificate in Psychiatry of Old Age. She is a member of the Faculty of Psychiatry of Old Age and the Faculty of Neuropsychiatry. Dr Hicks is an accredited training superior for the RANZCP Fellowship Program and is a senior lecturer with Griffith University School of Medicine.
Dr Hicks has worked with the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital’s and The Prince Charles Hospital's Older Persons Mental Health Service.
Dr Hicks has been based at Belmont Private Hospital since 2016.
