Dr Hicks is based at Belmont Private Hospital. A referral from your GP is required before an appointment can be made.

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. Please complete the relevent privacy consent questionnaires and bring them to your appointment. If you have a current Enduring Power of Attorney please bring a copy of this with you also to the consultation.

Please Bring to your appointment:

  • Referral letter from GP or any other Doctor

  • Private Health Insurance Details

  • Current medication list

  • Letters from other therapists or medical specialists

  • Copy of Enduring Power of Attorney documentation

  • Completed patient questionnaires / consent forms

Admissions:

Dr Hicks has admitting rights to Belmont Private Hospital. If you require hospital admission she has No-Gap arrangements for inpatients with various health funds. This means that you will not be out of pocket for any doctor’s fees during your admission. You may be required to pay a hospital fee for your admission, but this will depend upon your health fund insurance and excess arrangements. If you are not in a health fund, different arrangements will apply.

Fees and Rebates:

Dr Hicks charges the Australian Medical Association (AMA) recommended fees. A list of current fees will be provided on request.  All fees are to be paid in full on the day of your appointment.  Bulk Billing is not available.

Initial assessments are generally 60mins in duration. For assessment of memory and cognitive impairment it is recommended that a family member attend this initial appointment and up to 90mins should be allowed. Sometimes it is not possible to clarify diagnosis during this initial appointment and the initial assessment will occur over several appointments.

Psychiatry is usually provided as part of a GP referral and most patients are eligible for Medicare Rebates.  Rebates will be higher once you or your family reaches the annual Medicare Safety Net threshold.

A $100 cancellation fee applies to all bookings cancelled with less than 24hours notice.  This fee does not attract a Medicare Rebate and must be paid in full before any further appointments will be made.
